Adult & Youth Support Services (AYSS):

  • Is open to participants 16 years of age and older.
  • Can be accessed by individuals with or without justice status.
  • Offers long term and short term one on one support.
  • Operates on a voluntary basis.
  • Provides knowledge of community resources such as; basic needs, housing, legal services, community meals, education, employment preparation and counselling services.
  • Helps participants to complete applications (employment, education, identification, funding etc).
  • Assists with resume writing, job search, interviewing techniques and follow up practices.
  • Support with job maintenance and resolve workplace conflicts.
  • Provide information on Record Suspensions and assist with the application process.
  • Assists with pre and post release planning for those transitioning from Federal or Provincial prison systems into the community.
  • Provides pre-release planning packages and community resources.
  • Provides institutional supports to incarcerated persons (via telephone).
  • Provide supports to friends and family members who have loved ones incarcerated or involved in the criminal justice system.
  • Knowledgeable in community resources such as, basic needs, housing, legal services, community meals, education, employment programs and counselling services.
  • Assists with appropriate community referrals.
  • Encourages and teaches participants to advocate for themselves.

Hours of Operation…

Monday to Friday
8:30am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Wednesday
Open- 8:30am – 11:30am
