On April 23, 2018, the Edmonton John Howard Society’s (EJHS) servers were attacked by Ransomware. Ransomware is malicious software that installs itself on computers and electronic devices, encrypts the hard drive, and then demands that a ransom be paid before the information will be unencrypted.
After the Ransomware attack, EJHS investigated this attack and contacted the police. EJHS received advice from an IT expert, as well as the Edmonton Police Service that it is highly unlikely that any of our clients’ information was compromised by the Ransomware.
EJHS is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of our clients’ personal information. If you have any concerns about your personal information, please let us know by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
